Several Lake Tishomingo residents are members of the Writers' Society, Hilda Schryver, Pat Lane and Barbara Fitzgerald.
The Writers' Society of Jefferson County meets at Jefferson Memorial Medical Center South at 10:00 am on the first Saturday of each month (except April and July...2nd Sat). There is no meeting in August.
Anyone interested in being a writer, learning about writing, published or unpublished, beginner or "wannabe" ...anyone with any kind of desire to be involved with writing anything, is invited to attend and to join the group.
We have work groups for fiction, nonfiction, children's writing and poetry...the majority of members have never had anything published but we do have some members who have quite a bit published on a regular basis. We give each other support in our writing efforts and learn from each other, our guest speakers and our newsletter.
Annual dues are $20 and you may obtain information about the group from Barbara Fitzgerald at FitzOnLakeT@aol.com. The WSJC is an affiliate of the Missouri Writers' Guild.
